Miu Miu Womens’ Tales: The Powder Room by Zoe Cassavetes
Filmmaker Zoe Cassavetes’ short film, set in the glamorous confines of the Claridges Hotel powder room, marks the first of ‘The Miu Miu Womens’ Tales’ series. The brand is going all out on the feminine mystique, enlisting female directors with a diverse range of cinematic points of view to interpret the brand from a woman’s perspective, in a series of shorts being rolled out throughout the year. This film, titled, ‘The Powder Room’, brings the viewer through a surreal visual narrative - a small world where the seemingly simple act of touching up one’s make-up is charged with furtive glances laced with heavy tension and the unspoken codes of the powder room. Audrey Marnay stars as a femme fatale who mysteriously plays with the private and reflective environment of the powder room, her dream-like repose interrupted by other similarly glamorous girls (played by models Caroline de Maigret, Line Gost and Sophie Vlaming).
